Her Story:

Sherona McAllister has always been a believer in pursuing passions, despite what anyone says; regardless of skin color, sex, age, body physique, background or anything else.

She started ballet with the Royal Academy of Dance at the age of three, where she fell in love with it and uses it as her way of expression, escape and exercise.

Sherona was so passionate about ballet that at the age of 12, she began teaching all she knew at a local church to young women coming from all walks of life. This not only helped them develop a skill, but reinforced all she learned, while developing the skill of teaching.

She completed Ballet Advanced 2 in 2011, whilst in medical school. After graduating as a Medical Doctor, she pursued her Masters in Sports Medicine due to her growing interest in dance/sports related injuries.

Sherona since became a wife and mom of two precious soon-to-be ballerinas. Postpartum recovery was quite a challenge, leading her to do significant research on safe postpartum recovery.

She has lectured ballet at the Edna Manley School of Dance in Jamaica and trained dancers in ballet and choreographed for the National Dance Theatre. She is currently the director of OBOG Dance Company in Jamaica whilst a ballet coach for Ballet Bloom.
